History of Sangla Valley

There is not much known about the history of Sangla Valley. Historically, it is believed that the entire district was earlier known by the name of Kanaurra or Kinnaura. This area originally came under the kingdom of Magadha Kingdom. And then it was followed by the Mauryan rule sometime in the 6th century BC. Later on, in history, this place was further divided into a total of seven regions called Sat Khund. As the Mughal Era came to an end, the district came to be known as Chini Tehsil. The region was then merged with the Mahasu district.

1. Bering Nag Temple

Structured in north Indian architecture style, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The beautiful ambiance and solace atmosphere is divine and enchanting.

How to Reach Sangla Valley

By Air

The nearest airport is the Kullu Manali Airport in Bhuntar. It advised taking connecting flights via Delhi or Chandigarh to this place. And after deboarding at the airport, you will need to cover the remaining distance by some means of public transportation like a cab.

By Train

The nearest train station is the Shimla Railways Station. After you get off-board the train, you can easily take a cab or some other means of transportation to reach here.

By Road

Depending upon your location, i.e. to say if you are residing nearby within 100-200 km, you can plan on covering the whole distance by road as well. For this, you will need to take a cab or a bus. Otherwise, you can also consider taking your own car.
